For thousands of years maritime experiences and exploration have led humans to unknown and often dangerous “worlds”. Many of the challenges and extreme risks accompanying these effort's mimic many of the hard problems our species will face as we venture into deep space.
Three experienced US Naval officers will discuss the history and issues here including crew training, psychology, social interaction, the isolation experienced in long remote journeys…including those onboard nuclear submarines. This conversation will address the relevant lessons from this history and the potential applications for space exploration.
