The rapid acceleration of space exploration makes understanding the dynamics, safety, ethics, and liability involved with human reproduction an issue of upmost importance. Currently there is very little solid information about the biology and thus feasibility of responsible human reproduction in space. Efforts to have self-sufficient outposts and settlements fundamentally rely on reproduction being possible and safe. The realization of space tourism has now made conception in space a much sooner than later hard problem to address.
