Before we understood the cosmos or there was spacecraft off world…we imagined it. Then we painted it, wrote about it and expressed it through music. Science and space exploration didn’t begin with science it began with art. Physician and renaissance thinker Leonard Shlain wrote “Artists have mysteriously incorporated into their works features of a physical description of the world that science later discovers”. Going forward this same creative instinct has and will continue to help us wonder, imagine life off world, solve complex problems and explore the nature of the culture that might emerge in space.
